ASSISTANT ATHLETIC THERAPIST

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are seeking a Certified Athletic Therapist for the 2014 CFL football season.  The Assistant Athletic Therapist will be responsible to assist the Head Athletic Therapist in the overall care of all players; to maximize performance and aid in injury prevention and return to play. This position requires strong communication and time management skills.



RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the general care of the Tiger-Cat players, including injury prevention, recognition, treatment, and rehabilitation
  • Assist with the guidance and supervision of student therapists
  • Assist with the administration of athlete medical records and physicals
  • Travel with the team to games, home and away

QUALIFICATIONS/OTHER:

A dynamic individual with experience working with elite level athletes, who has demonstrated a capacity to implement strength and rehabilitative programs to aid in the ongoing development of the team. Candidates should possess a Bachelor degree in Athletic Therapy, or equivalent, and a comprehensive understanding of athletic performance; ideally holding designation with the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association.

CORPORATE PARTNERSHIPS INTERN

Location: Business Office & Tim Hortons Field - Hamilton, Ontario
Contracted Time: 7 month internship available (May 5 to November 28)
Stipend: Opportunity to recuperate out of pocket expenses: $250 per month. At the end of the football season, providing you have participated in the game day execution of all 2014 Ticat home games, there is a $1,000 honorarium.
Hours Required: 40 hours per week + all 2014 Tiger-Cats home games at Tim Hortons Field.

MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats internship program is to educate its participants in all aspects of operating a professional sports organization. Through observation and practical experience, interns learn how to function in a professional environment that requires a high energy level, the ability to perform under pressure, show initiative in discovering new programs and the utilization of essential time management skills. Through these developments, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats strive to successfully prepare those within the placement to compete for positions in today’s competitive career marketplace.


REQUIREMENTS
To qualify for an internship with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, all participants must be enrolled in, or have recently graduated from a degree / diploma program. All interns may be eligible to earn a nominal monthly stipend. All candidates are required to have excellent interpersonal skills, communication and organizational skills, computer skills as well as a serious interest in the field of the placement for which you would like to be considered.

APPLICANTS
Applicants for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats internship program must be hard working, dedicated, self-motivated individuals who can function productively in a challenging environment. In addition to your assignments during the regular work week, students are required to participate in executing all 2014 Hamilton Tiger-Cats home games. Internship program runs from May - November. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Work with the Corporate Partnerships Client Service team to execute sponsorship contract elements.
  • Help the Corporate Partnerships Client Service team prepare client proposals and season recap reports (Includes tracking and compiling sponsorship elements).
  • Assist the Corporate Partnerships Client Service team with the planning and execution of partner prospecting, hosting, and relationship building events.
  • Help the Corporate Partnerships Client Service team facilitate sponsor appearances (Player, mascot, and/or cheerleaders).
  • Aid the Corporate Partnerships Department in game day set up and preparation including any required manual labour prior to, during or after each game.
  • Assist the Corporate Partnerships Department with the preparation and execution of any game day sponsorship activations or promotional elements.
  • Work collaboratively with the Corporate Partnerships Client Service team to ensure that all client deliverables, internal responsibilities and reporting are completed and delivered in a timely manner.
  • Interns will also assume other duties as assigned by a member of the Corporate Partnerships Department.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong PC Skills - Microsoft Office programs (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Photoshop)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Exceptional written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Flexible hours (must be available for all game days/nights)

CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE TEAM (PART-TIME STAFF)

Summary: The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are looking for energetic, passionate and dedicated individuals who want to join our Customer Assistance Team (CAT Team) in one of our numerous exciting roles as the official game day ambassadors of Tiger-Cats Football. Those selected will join our team in creating a world-class guest experience at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton, ON beginning with the 2014 CFL season.

Those selected for an interview will be considered in the following roles: 

  • Ticket Takers
  • In-Bowl and Concourse Ushers
  • Guest Services Staff
  • Game Day Retail Staff
  • Parking Attendants
  • Facility Operations Team
  • Promotions Team

Ideal candidates possess: 

  • Charismatic, high energy and a cheerful personality
  • A passion for football, the CFL, the Tiger-Cats, and the Hamilton community 
  • A commitment and desire to make a difference through world-class customer service for all guests in attendance
  • An ability to work well under pressure, remaining calm in all situations

CAT Team Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Meet and greet all guests entering Tim Hortons Field with a friendly and helpful attitude
  • Be personal and pro-active in providing assistance to all guests with the highest level of customer service and hospitality
  • Retain an extensive knowledge of the team, Tim Hortons Field layout, seating sections, key venue attractions, key team and venue personnel identity, and emergency activity procedures
  • Must possess strong communication and selling skills
  • Must possess basic math skills and money handling skills
  • Employees will be working in varying degrees of possibly inclement weather 

Non-Negotiable:

  • Staff must be at least 18 years old
  • Staff must be able to stand for 3 consecutive hours and lift up to 55 pounds
  • Staff will be required to work 90% of all Tiger-Cats events (includes playoff games, concerts)
  • Staff must comply with all Hamilton Tiger-Cats personal hygiene and grooming guidelines

REQUIREMENTS

All candidates are required to have excellent interpersonal skills, communications and organizational skills, great computer skills as well a serious interest in the field of the placement for which you would like to be considered. 

APPLICANTS

Applicants for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats internship program must be hardworking, dedicated, self-motivated individuals who can function productively in a challenging environment. Prior experience in sports is preferred, but not required. In addition to working the a 40 hour work week, the successful applicant is required to be able to stand on their feet for long periods of time (up to 8 hours) and have the ability to lift 30 lbs (13.6 kg) safely.

STIPEND

Opportunity to recuperate out of pocket expenses: $250 per month. At the end of the football season, providing you have participated in the game day execution of (6) 2014 Ticat home games, there is a $700 honorarium.

HOURS REQUIRED

40 hours per week + all 2014 Tiger-Cats home games at Tim Hortons Field.

INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION:

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats retail operations internship will provide the successful applicant with a full understanding of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats retail operations management and what is necessary to succeed. Through this understanding, the intern will play a meaningful role in the development and growth of the Tiger-Cats retail operations. Interested candidates should be passionate about pro sports and the operation of a small business retail program.

Responsibilities and Skills:

  1. Work with staff on the management and operation of the TigerTown online store including implementation of search engine optimization, posting new and updating product profiles and execution of online marketing campaign.
  2. Help in the execution and management of the 2014 regionalization plan and execution of retail regionalization of the football team through special events and promotions.
  3. Assist with the integration of the 2014 retail marketing plan for the 2014 season.
  4. Assist in the creation and implementation of a full marketing plan of our website, store.ticats.ca
  5. Assist in the management of our warehouse including, but not limited to, receiving, counting and processing all shipments for retail department.
  6. Be a major contributor in the creation and execution of a just-in-time purchasing and receiving plan.
  7. Assist in day-to-day operations of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats retail department including understanding and operating Ticketmaster, point-of-sale system, inventory control, customer service and more.
  8. Engage in the merchandising and setup of all retail outlets at Tim Hortons Field the week/s prior to game-day.
  9. Help management in the execution of our CFL auctions website and help generate a year-round auctions program.
  10. Assist with other duties as they arise.
  11. Investigate new merchandise initiatives as determined by management.
